The Baths, Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands

The turn-on: Virgin Gorda's hidden coves and sandy stretches are far from the body-shot crowds that plague parts of Jost Van Dyke and Tortola. One of 60 islands in the British Virgins chain, Virgin Gorda is the province of trysting couples and libidinous newlyweds who hole up in luxury resorts like the Bitter End Yacht Club and the Rosewood Little Dix Bay. Virgin Gorda's beaches are legendary, but the Baths, where towering granite slabs press up against one another and turquoise water teases the shore, is the island's most famous—and most photographed—stretch of sand. (Sports Illustrated shot its steamy Tyra Banks swimsuit cover here in 1997.) The Baths can get crowded by midday, but arise at dawn and you'll have its twisting grottoes largely to yourself.

Hot bodies: The name of the island may translate as "fat virgin," but you'll find just the opposite. Expect trim, tanned yachties and the bottle blondes that love them, flush-faced young married types, and celebs from Heidi Klum to Elizabeth Hurley.

Bed down: Aquamare is a secluded enclave of five-bedroom villas with outdoor soaking tubs obscured by lush greenery and private infinity pools that stretch toward the Sir Francis Drake Channel.

Boris Kodjoe, the  german-ghanain actor best known best known for starring in Showtime’s ‘Soul Food., steps in and takes on Professor Gates' arrest.Boris Kodjoe owns a mansion in Atlanta. But when he goes to answer his door, the black actor knows what it’s like to be an outcast.

"When I’m opening the door of my own house, someone will ask me where the man of the house is, implying that I’m staff,’ said Kodjoe, best known for starring in Showtime’s ‘Soul Food."

Gates granted an interview to his daughter Elizabeth in the Daily Beast (which—between contributors Meghan McCain and Luke Parker Bowles—is rapidly becoming the outlet of choice for the blood kin of the contemporary aristocracy).

Gates granted an interview to his daughter Elizabeth in the Daily Beast (which—between contributors Meghan McCain and Luke Parker Bowles—is rapidly becoming the outlet of choice for the blood kin of the contemporary aristocracy).

His take on his own tour through the criminal justice system is tempered by his role as an educator, which makes him laudably reasonable about something that justifiably pissed him of royally. While some observers—well, OK, this observer—were quick to accuse the white Harvard employee who called the cops after seeing Gates and his driver trying to enter his home of racism, Gates disagrees:

We depend on the police-I'm glad that this lady called 911. I hope right now if someone is breaking into my house she's calling 911 and the police will come! I just don't want to be arrested for being black at home! I think this was a bit of an extreme reaction.

And he doesn't even accuse the cop who hauled him off to jail of being a racist so much as an angry and vindictive man who looked viewed the incident through a racial lens:

If I had been white this incident never would have happened. He would have asked at the door, "Excuse me, are you okay? Because there are two black men around here try'na rob you [laughter] and I think he also violated the rules by not giving his name and badge number, and I think he would have given that to one of my white colleagues or one of my white neighbors. So race definitely played a role. Whether he's an individual racist? I don't know-I don't know him. But I think he stereotyped me.

And since Harvard academics already narrate their lives to themselves as an ongoing PBS documentary, Gates figures he might as well turn his arrest into a real one. He told the Root, of which he is the founder:

As a college professor, I want to make this a teaching experience. I am going to devote my considerable resources, intellectual and otherwise, to making sure this doesn't happen again. I'm thinking about making a documentary film about racial profiling, and I'm in talks with PBS about that.

On july 14th, while the french were celebrating "Bastille Day, RnB chocolate -soothing -goddess Joe released his latest baby :"Signature".Basically, it's all about Existential Despair, Heartbreak and Fireworks : The Emotional Arson of your own God Damn Life ! As women called it " Torchsongs" *sigh* ...

Jokes aside, it's a great album for a chilling-101 pyjama party, or cleaning your place when no more you can stand dirt and dust.Whatsoever, let's get back on track and see which vibes singer Joe has to offer.

The 4 first songs seemed to me as the typical slow jams without any creative sound edge and when its comes to the lyrics: it's all about a girl, sexiness, love, love and you kinda feel bored not to mention annoyed.Hopefully, as soon as you hit the songs -Miss My Baby,Come to get this,Metaphor,Worst Case Scenario- it's hard to not feel Joe's brand of richly textured and organic rnb vibes. At first ,i couldnt figure out why i was so drawn to those songs, there was some hidden reason i couldn't take it off repeat and then it hit me: Joe back  in the 90s !This was the kind of jam with wich he hit the charts: juicy, damn tasty, you're definetly digging him.
